Hi We have windows 2000 professioanl installed and the motherboard was faulty and we have just replaced it with another one. But when I started up the machine I get the following error. Stop:0x000007b (0xef01f84c,0xc0000034,0x000000, 000000) inaccessible_boot_device. We have a cd rom drive and a cd recorder using on-board IDE interface. I think it's the different IDE interface that is causing the problem. How do I fix this?, press f8 and install another driver? or boot from dos disc and manual replace some driver files? Thanks Ken

You will need a re-install.A repair install might also work. Because W2K handles all Hardware, changing hardware depending on how important the hardware is, W2K does not like it. A motherboard is a very important peice and you will have to either repair the installation or re-install.

Try Windows 2000 Pro with integrated Service Pack 2. That was the solution to me.
