Inaccessible Boot device

Subject: Inaccessible Boot device
OS: Win 2000
CPU/Ram: Unknown
Model/Manufacturer: compaq/ evo?
Comment:
I began messing with an extra computer I had and deleted some files in the "System 32" folder. I thought I was chasing down a virus.
Now when I turn the computer on it stops at this Inacessible boot drive error (Blue screen)
I don't have the boot disk, but it was tried several months ago, it doesn't recognize external hardware. (Computer does not have a disc drive)
I have several computers around, and I'm wondering if there is a way to boot up the bad one by using another?

The above post is for XP but W2K is similar, this may give some ideas, but without a W2K CD it is pretty hopeless.
