Hi,
I am having a problem to open the .PST file that I used to use in the past (Outlook 2000).
When I go to File/Import/messages/MS Outlook - I am getting a message 'Messages cannot be imported from a MAPI Client'; Then I tried File/Import/Mail Acount Settings - I am getting 'No other e-mail accounts could be found'.
Am I doing some thing wrong ? All I am trying to do is to open up the .PST file with Outlook Express. All my address books are in there and I am unable to get to them.
Can any body help, please ?
Thanks a lot and I appreciate your help.

If you're having trouble importing the pst file, open your Outlook, click on File, Import and Export, and select export to a file.
Then, export your setting, and import that newly created file into Outlook Express.
Good luck. :)

Yes you can export a COPY of your contacts in Outlook to a file, then import that into Outlook Express. But you need Outlook Express 4.x or higher. Check out Microsoft's article :
OLEXP: How to Import Outlook Contacts into Outlook Express (Q177123)http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q177123
Outlook Express is limited in it's abilities to " Colaborate " resources. Like sharing Contacts, Inbox, Calander, etc.
You would need a common Contact management medium to share information conccurrently between Outlook and Express. Hope this helps

if you have outlook express 6 you can import your whole mail from outlook.
goto >file>import>mail> choose program of outlook.
Hope this helps.

To use a different .pst file change the name or delete the existing .pst file. When OL opens it will say it can't fine the file then point it to the new one.
