Hi, I am trying to setup an intranet at home. I have a Win2000Svr and 2 Win2000Pro clients. On the server in the IIS 5.0 console I made a new website called JGBIntranet. (I left the Default WebSite alone). I used a host header name of intranet wich comes out to intranet.betty.local (domain is betty.local). keeping the intranet using port 80. The server has 2 NIC's so i used the new website/intranet to use the internal NIC ip address.
when i log onto a client and type in http://JGBintranet in the browser address bar, the index.htm page I setup in the JGBintranet home dir does not come up, but when i type in http://intranet.betty.local, the index.htm does come up!!
My question is, is the http://JGBintranet also supposed to work from a clients computer when they enter it into a browser? or just the hostheader name of intranet.betty.local?

I am trying to simulate this intranet to be just the same as if it was in a small business!!
