IExplore has generated errors

I am having problems with my internet explorer and computer explorer. Everytime I click on mp3 media files in computer explorer or surf to a web page with mp3 media content, it gives me an error message reading: "IEXPLORE.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. An error log is being created." I have Windows 2000. I tried running my computer in Safe Mode to see if there were any corrupt files or anything but there wasn't. Run virus scan, run spybot, run adware, and use hijackthis log nothing solved. Uninstall and install internet explorer won't help. Search MS KB won't help either. This problem quite popular every forums - the problem generate same errors but only diffrent on what problem they encounter. Some get the solution work out and some not. Someone please, help. Then, I guess there is no solution at all...
