When you say that it shuts down, does it say that it has encountered a problem? If it does, then you need to post the problem, otherwise it is difficult to give advice.

Try this:

go to: "START"->"RUN"
type: "sfc /purgecache"

you will need to put your OS CD in.

See what it does.

Mine has been doing this too :(
There are certain web pages that I cannot view for some reason (for example www.jacobscave.com ). It seems that it only does this with pages that have some type of animation going on. When I click on a link to the page or enter the url, the page will start to load, as I can briefly view part of it, but before the page even halfway loads, I will hear a soft "pop" as everything immediately shuts down and I get a black screen, as if I had shut my computer down. At that time I can press the [enter] key, and my desktop will come up, but my browser and any web pages that I might have had open at the time are completely closed. And I have my IE upated and I'm running IE 6 service pack 1 as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)
