IE opens for 1 sec. then closes

Well, never seen this before...the system sees internet connection, and the two computer icons on the start bar are active. But, when i double click on the Internet Explorer icon, it brings up the page for one second then disappears. the same thing happends when I click on Windows update. Does anyone know what's going on??? help! Kye

Look at the event viewer for starters. Then run masconfig and disable all under startup. See if it still happens.

Thanks Don2006, But I did try the 'msconfig' option and it didnot work due to the system could not find the path to that option. is there anything else i could try??? Kye

I see what you mean. Win 2000 doesn't come w/ msconfig. You can download it and run it. Search google for "download msconfig windows 2000"
