The original IE (version 6.0) icon that shows on the desktop in Windows 2000 Professional was accidently deleted and the trash can was emptied. How can I get it back? The original IE icon you can right mouse click to go to properties then it shows the internet options for you to modify. If I just create another short cut on the desktop it won't show the options settings when click on properties. Any idea of how to get the original IE icon back onto the desktop?

Open IE. click tools / internet options / advanced tab and look for "show internet explorer on desktop" check it. apply. In case it's already checked, uncheck it-apply-then re-check it, apply.
