Has anyone encountered the behavior where IE 5.5 spontaneously lose all my cookies? All of a sudden I find myself having to re-login to all my usual sites.

This has happened several times over the last few years, on several different computers. Always W2K & IE 5.5.

Does anyone know why this happens?

Josh,

I don't know why it happens, but it happened to me too. I don't think it so much loses cookies at it either corrupts them or freaks out when dealing with what it considers a cookie conflict. When I went to log into my Yahoo! email, for instance, I would enter my username and password, click submit (or whatever it is), and the screen would "blink" and those 2 fields would be staring at me, blank, again.

A move up to IE 6 will fix you up. So far, and I've been using 6 (with 2000) for about 6-8 months, browsing is much, much better. Actually, this fist happened to me with 98, now that I think of it.

Good luck.

Roger

I moved to IE 6 and STILL have the problems Josh talks about above. VERY frustrating for I am unable to communicate with BB's and other login-related sites.

:-(
