I have 1 desktop and one laptop both running win2k. The lan seems to be fine with the Lan connection on the desktop bein ip 192.168.0.1 and the laptop allocated automatically. No problem sharing drives etc. The dial up connection to the net has the internet connection sharing checkbox ticked. I can access MIRC through the laptop when the destop is dialed up...HOWEVER all web pages fail, MSN messenger fails, everything else net related on this laptop fails it's not sharing all services correctly. The night before the problem occured it was fine, then we rebooted the desktop and since it hasn't worked properly. I read about some bug on the Microsoft site that sounded familiar but it's resolution seemed off track. If someone has any idea plz respond. Thanks John

I'm not sure I understand your problem. But here goes!!! Lets us call your computers PC1 and PC2... PC1 is connect to Internet with Dialup-Modem, "this have to be shared", Your netcard-adapter to private LAN vil now have ip 192.168.0.1, thats all for PC1... PC2: In netcard-adapter, you have to set up ip/gateway/dns-- manuel. all these have to point to your PC1 Lan-adapter, so use: ip: 192.168.0.2 - 254 Gateway: 192.168.0.1 Dns: 192.168.0.1 Hope this vill help! Actually, the previously mentioned settings won't work on windowd 2000 (they don't for me, anyway). The machine with the internet connection is the gateway, but I have to use my ISP's DNS addresses on all machines on the network. Setting the gateway machine as DNS does not work.
