Hi Guys. Recently changed from USB modem to a Netgear Router\Modem (ADSL-BB AOL.) Im using ethernet cable to link router to just the one pc- Im not Networking with anyone. Ive just noticed an Icon Ive not seen before in Network dial-up connections panel- its network type (twin pcs)and monitors duration (time connected) plus ammount sent and recieved. Can anyone put me right on this- is it a genuine Item- Im guessing its down to the Netgear router but need to know for sure.

I'm certainly hoping you just made up that userid, and you're not really AWOL. Back to the matter at hand, can you post a screen shot?

A mouseover or r-click can be marvellously informative on tray icons - running processes can provide a clue as well
If it's not associated with your router, then what do you think it is - some (very) poorly hidden spyware app?
Posting really isn't a substitute for the thinking process y'know
I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.
