I hope you have everything saved that you want to save because you will have to reformat the Hard drive to go back to the FAT 32 file system. Other than that, it is a normal Win 98 install. I also have tried WIN2K and it bites. I don't feel like this is an upgrade. More like let down. It is hungry for hard drive space and it wants more than I care to give up. I plan to stay with Win 98 SE.

I'm surprised that you want to go back to an OS that crashes everytime you want to do something. W2k is a much more stable OS, and I've gotten most of the games to work in W2k. You just have to get the latest drivers.

My 98 never crashes. I made a dual boot because I have dual processor machines. It is well worth the time. Run Quake III on a dual processor machine in W2K and you will agree!

Partition magic version 5.0 lets you convert from ntfs to fat16 and fat32 and vice versa. Get yourself a copy, install it and do your conversions, uninstall what you can of win2k and reinstall win9x

Partition Magic ver. 5 does all that but not in Windows 2000...

Partition Magic doesn't run in Windows 2000 but Partition Manager 2000 does. It also converts from NTFS to FAT32. I'm having the same problem and this is the only program that I've been able to find that might work, but I haven't purchased it yet.

I had gone through your response and purchased the Partition Magic 2000 , installed it on my PC tried to convert file system NTFS5 to Fat32.

Alas ! I was not successful to get this conversion and I tried contacting the software support at PM2000 for this problem I have not recd any details for my enquairy.

Does PM2000 really could help in this case is still not known
