I have been having problems getting my Win2k to run. I was having problems with my cd Roms and the CD booing, but I though I got past all that. Everything was working fine for a week, then.....I started my computer and it said "WINNT\SYSTEM32\ntoskernl.exe
; ''''''''''''''\hal.dll
;'''''''''''''''\BOOTVID.dll
;'''''''''''''''\config\system
;'''''''''''''''\config\system.alt
Windows 2000 can not Start because of Corrupt or Missing File
WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

I did not install any new software that could have caused this, and My machine was shutdown and restarted many times successfully before this occured.
What am I to DO ??
could it be a bad motherboard, or hardware ??
anyone want to buy broken computer parts..j/k

I suggest you run a compatibility report to check if summit on ur mboard is messing up the hardware abstration layer (HAL)
To do this either run

winnt32/checkupgradeonly from the 2k cd

or

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/compat/RAread.asp

i suggest you dload the file in question as it easier to run than the former!

Tally ho!
