I'm using win2k pro. And I want to format my hard drive and then reinstall win2k pro.
I don't have a clue so I would appreciate all the details neccesary to do this.
By the way I all ready have created the boot disks.

Hey Matt,

Boot up with your windows 2K boot disks and with the Win2K CD in the CDROM, after waiting for it to process the disks, you will be presented with a screen listing the following Options:

-To Setup window 2000 now, press Enter
-To Repair Windows 2000, press R
-To quit press F3

Press ENTER

Press F8 to agree to the License.

You will now be at the hard drive configuration screen, you should see your hard drive listed here for example, it would list:

C: NTFS 2400MB (1024 MB FREE)

Select your partition (C Drive) and press D, this will delete your partition (after you confirm the deletion by pressing L). Delete whatever partitions / drives you want to. When you are finished, you should see something like this:

Unpartitioned Space (2400MB)

Press C to create partition (if I'm wrong, refer to the instructions on the lower part of the screen to find out what button you push) it will then let you choose the size you want the partition to be, go with the default unless you want to devide your hard drive up. You should be returned to the previous screen and see something like:

C: Unformatted

Press enter on that drive and you will be walked through formatting it and installing Windows 2000.

you should be able to put you cd in the cdrom and run the setup program and choose the clean install.
