Hi .. I'm a newbee so bear with me please. I've recently learned how to Map a Network Drive,so I created one on my PC(W2K)sharing it with my wifes PC(WinXP Home) and everything was running well with the mapped network drives. BUT, for some reason I formatted my PC and installed win XP Home .. Here's where the problem started, I know by formatting my PC means that I have lost everything. But is there ANY POSSIBLE WAY to recover my files and programes which were in my mapped network drive ?? the icon is still there in my wifes PC but when I double click it, it goes back to "My Network Places"..

All a mapped Network Drive is a shortcut to a local folder on a remote machine. If the mapped drive was on her machine to yours then there is no way of getting the files back because you have formatted the HDD. If you are trying to access a network drive that was on your machine then you can remap it to hers.
