Hey all, I'm finally getting a job interview after months of looking but part of the job req is h/w knowledge on building servers. I have very little of that hands-on. And it was a while ago, I'm more of a software tech then a hardware one. I would appreciate any and all tips on what basic questions they may ask re: servers and if you can point me to some tutorials or give me some of your own knowledge I'd appreciate it.
This is a Compaq and IBM environment, and the servers are probably a few years old. They'll want me to know how to build a server out of the box. I vaguely remember the last time I had to do it (with someone's help) I had to load RAID drivers or scsi drivers ? And I used something called control m (for what I don't know). Someone also told me to hit a certain F key during the Windows 2000 OS load so I can load certain hardware drivers (F6 I think).
I'm flyin by the seat of my pants on this one, pls help! Once I get to actually loading the OS I'll be ok. Its the prep part before that on which I need help.
