Does anyone know how to get the HP ScanJet 5100c running with Windows 2000?
You know what, I am haveing lots of problems getting my scanner to work too. It is not an HP but it just doesn't seem to want to go.
I contacted my scanner company, and they said that W2000 made it very hard for them to create w2000 drivers for scanning devices. Your best bet would be to contact HP to see if they have new software out that is w2000 compliant.
I know this isn't a solution, but I tried long and hard to get my scanner to work without any luck. I think I will set up a W98 partition on my PC just for the scanner
I have a HP 5100C working fine with Win2K. I quit fooling with HP software and use Pagis Pro 3.0 and a standard twain driver. The scanner works fine with Adaptec, SIIG, or Tekram SCSI cards as the last device on the SCSI chain. Just to let you know it will work. Keep after it!

Check out DRIVERGUIDE.COM (www.driverguide.com), you should be able to get a driver from there. I have a ScanJet 3200C, and I am running Windows 2000. I managed to find an equivalent driver which works fine! (This driver was writtern for UMAX scanners, but hey! It works!)

The problem is all about LPT driver of w2k. There is a patch from HP which updates the scanning software. I use it all fine !
