My scanner doesn't work with W2K! It's a Hewlett Packard ScanJet 4100. I know I have to download a new driver, but where can I find it? HP will only ship the driver on CD-ROM. No Download is possible. Who got this driver? Who will mail it to me? Thx!

Greetz... Hendrik

Find the NT driver and it will most likely work. It did for my HP 1150C.

there should be no need for drivers for this scanner...win2000 has them built right in to the os if you are using usb...turn on the computer and plug in the device

First of all there are no NT drivers for this scanner (since I believe NT has no USB support), second, there is a need for Win2K drivers; just plugging it in does not do much.

It ships with a CD for Win98 but not 2K. The software is necessary unless all you want to do is scan at 150 dpi from Photoshop. For some reason HP charges $10 plus shipping for this software. It's not available for download because "Due to the size of the software and the time it would take to download the contents over the web, these titles are available only in CD form through your regional distribution center." Do they not realize people have high speed internet connections now? I have a 100mbit ethernet connection to one of the net backbones @ my school... so I don't think the size of the files matters.

Wake up HP. I will never buy another CD-burner from you, because they are junk and you don't provide any support, and I will never buy another scanner for the same reason. Actually, I will never buy any HP product in the future. Since when does a company charge for drivers? Eh, you probably don't care what I have to say anyway.
