I got a HP 7200e external CDRW drive that will not work with Win2K. Everytime I run Adaptec/Roxio EasyCD Creator v4.03, the drive's LED light would flash non-stop. The program would then freeze up, and I got the "bluescreen of death". HP indicates that there is a parallel port ATAPI driver in its site for Win2K, but when I extracted the downloaded driver, it is only for NT/ME/9x. Anyhow, I got the right driver from this site: http://www.scmmicro.com/downloads.html?PID=35&s1=8&s2=62. Currently, I have my Win2K updated to SP1, and I'm using Adaptec EasyCD Creator 4.03. I did have this CDRW drive and my Win2K working perfectly before; however, I can't get it to work anymore. I had reinstalled Win2K without any upgrade or any other applications installed, and I'm still getting the same problem. I have even tried the new Roxio EasyCD Creator 5.0 and got the same result. Right now I can only use the CDRW drive in Win98 which I run off another hard drive. Please advise if anyone has a solution on this. Thanks!!!

You probably need to upgrade the firmware on your CD writer before it will work with Win2K. I had the same problem. The firmware update is on HPs website, but I don't have the link anymore.

I am stuck on the very same problem... I just installed W2K and installed the software for the burner and got a "bsod"... so now I'm re-installing win98, then going to update the firmware drivers and then purchase their 24.95 software upgrade to get it to work.... anyone else have some ideas of how to go about this..

This is my first time working with an external burner and I'm having quite abit of trouble getting it to work...
