HP- CD-R problems

I recently installed an HP 9510i writer. I'm running Win2000 Pro, Asus Black Pearl motherboard, Intel 1Ghz processor. I can't seem to get the HP writer to "organize the disk so it can be read in most CDroms" upon eject. When I try this action, I get the following message: FindFirstFile[]/FindNextFile[] failed. [0x8000000c] You will not be able to read all the data on the disk through a regular CD-Rom drive.

I've tried uninstalling the Adaptec software and reinstalling. I've even reformatted my HD, done a clean reinstall of Win2000, then installing the HP writer software first before installing anything else, and I still get the same response.

Any ideas??

Nope. Tried a different HP drive, a 9350i
plus tried a Ricoh drive.

Both did identically the same thing. It's got to be a software problem, or a conflict
in the configs.

K, a little fuzzy on the details... but if you don't have any hardware problems I'd suggest making sure you have all the updates to your software you use to burn. Then I'd suggest trying to copy a cd straight from another cd drive. After that I'd try looking at the preferences on what's setup when you burn CDs in the software's options......
