I want to get rid of win2k and go back to win98 for better games performance. What happened to the DOS prompt??. All I want to do is reformat the hard drive then start fresh with a clean install of win98. Thanks in advance- E

Just boot the PC with a Win98 boot floppy and type fdisk at the "A" prompt where you can format the hard drive or partition by typing 'format c:/u' which will give you an unconditional format of "C" drive. Or reboot the PC with the Win98 CD and go through the setup and it will give you the option of a format and reinstall.
