Do you want to upgrade to IE 6? If not, attempting to uninstall IE at all is problematic, not to mention that it causes severe problems with Windows.

Isn't that the truth! LOL
If you don't plan on using IE, just delete the shortcuts off the desktop, menus, and quick launch after installing whatever browser it is you plan on using instead.
