How to turn off automatic windows update

my win2k after appling sp3 it want to automaticly update windows. I found how to do this in ME and XP but not win2k

Just curious, but why on earth would you install a BETA service pack, which may contain bugs and break your system? Much better to wait until final release, especially for service packs.

verry late night post

Uninstall windows update notification agent.

Could not find this agent anywhere.

It keeps dialing out when I don't want it to
But I still want to auto connect when I request "outside ip addresses.
