I have XP installed on a computer. I also have a Windows 2000 operating system that I need to put on the computer to replace XP. I have tried the 4 Windows 2000 boot disk, but it freezes through the initalization. I have tried inserting the CDROM for 2000 then setting the BIOS to boot from CDROM, and still nothing. I have inserted it into the computer while XP is running and it tells me that the Windows version is to old to install over XP. What can I try now?

I just did an XP to 2000 conversion and it was not that hard. If it's 2000 pro look for a directory on you 2000 cd called BOOTDISK and in that directory you will see a program called MAKEBOOT (you will need 4 formated 3.5 floppy disks) run MAKEBOOT, it will make the four floppys and then reboot with the first flopy and your off and flying.
Summary: First off, I've made up my mind, so please don't respond to this telling me I shouldn't switch. But anyhow, I've been trying to figure out how to switch from Windows 2000 back to Windows ME for a few ...
