I just recently installed Win2k on a system that was runing win ME. I didn't want to lost the files on the drive so I left ME alone. Now I can not figure out how to make the system stop dual booting. I just want it to load straight into win 2k. Any ideas?
I think you should probably backup the files that you don't want to lose and then get rid of ME. From all I´ve heard you should only do clean installs of 2000 and XP so probably not a good idea to install over 2000.

Just u want to disable the multiboot .i.e. from Windows ME, modify the boot.ini file. then u won't loose any files.
Boot.ini file is hidden & read only. use attrib command to remove the attribues & modify then set attribues.
