Comment:

How can I hide or remove the option "Active Desktop" that is showing when right-clicking on the desktop.
I don't want everyone fiddle around with the desktop wallpaper, so I want to disable this option.
I have no Active Directory installed yet, and hence no Group Policies (yet).

Check the Local Security Policy and see if you can't find a setting in there for disabling the Active Desktop.

You may want to have a look at this link on How to apply a local policy to all users except the administrator before going ahead with it. You might want to leave the admin account the ability to change wallpapers etc, and that link will provide the info you need on excluding the admin account from any policies you apply locally on the PC in question.

A local policy will do it. You can disable Active Desktop and prevent the user from changing the wall paper all together.
