A new installation of Win2kpro was started and then stopped during process.
Now, every time I boot-up, a choice comes up for either "Windows 2000 Pro" or "Windows Setup".
How can I remove the setup choice.
Thanks all

Open the boot.ini via Notepad/Wordpad; delete the unwanted line(s).
Save changes and exit.
Is wise to make a backup of the boot.ini first - just in case...
If in doubt as to what to remove/delete - post the boot.ini as is here - before any editing attempts; then folks can/will advise accordingly.

No. I stopped it about 1 min. into copying files.
I do not want to reinstall and then do all the windows updating.
Can I just delete the boot-up choice ?

Not quite sure what you're asking here:
Are you referring to a backup of the boot.ini "you" made prior to editing the boot.ini - or the boot.ini backup made by W2K during the early part of the aborted W2K installation?
Might be easier to post the boot.ini here (as is at present) - that way clear advice can be proffered - thus removing any confusions? Indicate if the boot.ini (you post) is pre/post editing (although it should be pretty obvious either way).
All you need to delete from the boot.ini is the line (or lines) referring to the aborted installation.
When you boot to prefererd/original version - set it as default OS to boot. Then note what its entries are in the boot.ini; the line(s) to delete (for the aborted version) will then be pretty obvious?
The lines for the preferred installation will resemble:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect(with default set to preferred version, and presuming it's in c: - first partition on the drive)
The line(s) for the aborted version will obviously not resemble tha above.
Again posting the boot.ini here does help make it clearer?

Yes - you were right on target. Got it O.K. now. Many thanks.
Will try to be more clear in future.
Regards,
Gene
