I am limping along on a clean install of window2000pro - need excate procedure to make floppie to complete install - copied I386 file to hard drive....what now???? - sorry for basis quesiton.....

What exactly do you mean that you need to create a floppy to complete installation? Are you referring to the rescue disk?

no. I need to complete the install from my I386 folder on my hard drive. - I have to resort to this methoed bc I could change the bios to boot from cd. - have you ever done this? can you help

if you have the i386 folder on your HD. you dont need the floppys. just go to the command prompt and type c:\i386\setup.exe

Actually, Mark has it partially correct. The correct syntax would be to type WINNT and not SETUP from the %winroot%/i386 folder. There are available "switches" that can be used, just type /? after the WINNT command.

ie.: C:/>i386/winnt /?
