In the (unlikely) event the installer package fails, extract the files into a "New Folder" on your desktop from the .exe using WinRAR, then use Device Manager to update driver and select "New Folder" as the source of the driver. I've never had a Windows XP installer package fail on Windows 2000, but it's possible.
