i would like to install a desk top theme that changes your back ground and icons to cooler stuff instead of the standard icons and spice up the comp. i have down loaded the theme and i put the .cur and .ani files in the cursors file but that didnt change anything and the icons didnt change either. where do i put the .ico files and are there any settings i have to change in the settings somewhere? please guide me through this. i know nothing of these wicked machines. thanks guys really apreciate it.
If I'm not mistaken, all you have to do is - open the Desktop Properties and next to the list of themes there should be a "Browse" button. Hit that and then find and click on the file you downloaded. Windows should load everything where it belongs.

And if that doesn't work, there is a great program called "Desktop Themes". Its shareware, but unlimited use. What it does is installs Windows themes, but it gives you more extensive options and more customize-ability. Simply do a google search for it.
