I don't remember exactly how to do this, but I do remember seeing instructions for removing Windows 2000 NTFS file structure from harddrives in Windows Knowlegebase. Check it out: http://search.support.microsoft.com/kb/c.asp?fr=0&SD=GN&LN=EN-US

i know how to do it, ive done it 2 times in a day once.. all you gotta do is download partition magic or some partitioning utility and format NTFS to FAT32 and then itll format the win2k partition and you can install any FAT32 compatible OS on the previous win2k partition. partition magic4> http://suckdot.hypermart.net/downloads/pqmagic4.zip

You can have a dual boot system with Win98 and Win2k by repartitioning the hard drive into two partitions. If you want to have files to be shared by both operating systes then you have to have them both be Fat32, however, you only have to partion the first partion to start with. Partition it Fat32 for only a part of the hard drive - leave at least 2Gb for the Win2k later on. Format the partition that you just made and install Win98. Then load Win2k as a new installation. (This is an important point - if you upgrade you defeat the purpose) Win2k will partition and format the 2nd partition during the install process. If you don't need to share files with Win98 I suggest NTFS. You can do so much more with it and the security is MUCH better. When you finish you will have a dual boot system that gives you a choice when you first boot. If you have a problem blowing away the initial partition, use the Win2k CD and proceed to a new installation until you get to the point of repartitioning and formating the hard drive. Delete the previous partitions and reformat within the setup program. This will remove any problematic partitions. (It is more powerful than fdisk in DOS)

Yeah, just remember to install w98 first and than w2k, because otherwise w98 will erase w2k boot sector when it runs first time.

You could just get XOSL and install Win98 & Win2k in any order on ANY drive in your system. I have Windows 98SE on Drive 1 (Drive 0 has Win 2k). Only thing you must remember is to hide the First Disk's Partition (Even with NTFS). This allows you to boot Win98 on any drive.
