You can try this program called 1st Screensaver Powerpoint Studio. It can supposedly create screensavers from powerpoint files. They offer a free download and a registered version. I haven't tried it so I'm not sure if the free download has all the features included. Worth a try. Here's the link:

I have tried several of those free download programs for screen savers. Most insert some kind of add or warning about getting the registered version and aren't worth the trouble.
I've always wound up exporting all the slides to jpg files and using a program that came with my cd-burner to make an exe file to run as a screen saver. Windows XP pro has a built in make your own screen saver using any folder with images in it, works well too.
