Can anyone please tell me how to clear file usage history? I mean, when I open an application, for example MS-Word or Win Media Player, and click "File", I see some files/paths to my recently opened files. I tried clearing that by going Start>Settings>Taskbar and Start Menu>Advanced>Clear, but that didn't do the trick. Does anyone know an effective way to control this behavior of applications? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

For MS WORD go to TOOLS --> Options -->General and uncheck recently used file list. For Win Media player should be somewhere under options also.Hope this helps

This setting is usaully within the program. Foe example; in Word the setting is in: Tools>Options>General>Recently Used File List
Windows Media Player doesn't include this option but you can install a utility called 'Media Player PowerToys' that will add it.
(Clearing the most recently used files from the taskbar menu only clears the files that are visible from the Start>Documents directory)
