how to check tcp ports are open

Hi,

I am using windows 2k, i need to check whether my tcp ports are opened or closed. is there any way to check the ports through command prompt.

Hi,

at the command prompt type
netstat -a

It shows which ports are listening for connection.

Also try netstat -? for more options.

If you have any linux machine NMAP can tell you the required details.

#NMAP < ip address for the machine(your machine)
