If you know the name of the virus, go to symantec's web site and search for a utility to remove it. If they don't have one, try a google search for the same thing. If symantec doesn't have a util, it's likely someone else has made one.

It depends on the virus, you need to identify it and look for removal utilitys or instructions. Generally you need remove the infected file and remove anything in the registry that reffered to it, but messing with the registry is not really recomended.

You have not mentioned the name of virus or the problem you are facing. If you know that the PC is infected with virus, then you must be able to tell its name also. And once you know the virus it is easy to find removal tools on net. You can check any antivirus websites like symantec.com, pc-cillin etc.or simply search in google.com.
Summary: I have win98 and win2k dual boot set up on my computer. Now I want to delete the win2k completely and upgrade my win98 to win2k. How do I remove the win2k? Is it safe to just delete the WINNT folder?...
