how do i get to safe mode??

how do i ge tto safe mode from rebooting?

i keep getting an error 8611 message which i know is a prob with my broken mouse pointer, but it wont let me get to a screen where i can disbale it. it just goes to an error screen where i have to restart and i ge tthe same message.

if i start it in safe mode, will i be able to work on it then??

Typically (once the post has completed) one presses F-8 key to get to safe-mode. Essentially this will (ought to) give you the boot-menu from where you can choose safe-mode...
