You select in which order you want to boot in your BIOS (press DEL on bootup for most computers). You should select 1: CD-ROM 2: c: drive. Now whenever a bootable cd-rom is inserted the system will boot from it. Some mainboards will let you choose where to boot from at startup.

Hi, your BIOS has to be set to boot from the CD, after that, put the CD in, reboot, and read the screen, you'll be prompted when to hit a key.

i dled winek off kazaa, the file name is "Windows 2000 Professional .iso" and its just one of those little blank window icons.....if i double click on it it says its not a valid win32 application.... so i assumed if i put that on a blank cd with ex cd creator, it would work....but i gotfer which "f" button to choose to boot from a cd....

Dane - kazaa is VERY BAD...remove it! It fills your computer with all sorts of stuff you dont want there.

Secondly, the file you are referring to is an ISO file...it is basically an image of the windows cd. You need something like cdrwin or nero to burn that image to a then working cd.

Thirdly, win2k does not boot from the cd, you need to create boot floppies from the bootdisk folder on the cd.

Win2k DOES boot from the cd. Just set up the bios to boot from CD-ROM first.

get off your ass, go to walmart and buy win2k or 98.

put in your legal copy, use your own registration key, and enjoy.

Yes they will come to your house in the middle of the night and haul you and your brain dead parents off to jail.

Kazaa is full of virus and trojans, most if not all of the files posted there are crap. Dump all kazaa now, you will get sooo much infections from them and most all other "file sharing" sites you would not belive.

Did you know that Kazaa plants a spy bot package on every pc that downloads from them, every single one! They do this on purpose to track what you download so in case they get sued, (which they are at this moment) they can hand over to the feds or worse M$ a list of who, what and when.
