I can't access to my hotmail account from my home PC. Every time it displays "The page cannot be displayed" message. But I can access to the same account without any problem from other places, such as my school and internet cafe. What is the problem? My internet explorer is 6.0.2 and OS is Windows 2000pro. Can anybody help?

Your Hotmail cookie on that computer may be corrupt...so try deleting your cookies folder in IE\Tools\Internet Options\General tab.

Thanks everybody.
Things are getting better but not complete. I deleted the cookies as Krystyna suggested. Now the message "The page cannot be displayed" is displayed after I enter the acount name and password. Before it was displayed just after I wrote hotmail.com at the address bar. This is symptoms of what? Any help? Thanks.

You could try checking in IE\Tools\Internet Options\Advanced tab\Security
Tick the boxes for both "use SSL 2.0" and "use SSL 3.0"

Something else interesting I just found. If your system date or time is not correct, this can prevent you logging into Hotmail !!!

Thank you very much Krystyna.
I checked both of your hints but nothing has changed. Would it help if I reinstall the internet eplorer? Thanks.

Another thing to look at is Internet Options and Security tab. Are all your zones set to default ?
When you deleted Cookies, did you also delete the Temporary Internet Files ?
Also, in Internet Options, go to Content tab and click AutoComplete button. Click on Clear Forms, and then Clear Passwords. Maybe you have a corrupt password setting ??
Failing any success, I guess it couldn't hurt to try a re-install.
Good luck Krystyna

Hello.
I'm having problems accessing hotmail as well, with the same symptoms. BUT I had the qhost virus/trojan affecting my computer. I've dealt with that part, but still no hotmail. And no ebay or mcafee either. And now Outlook Express is not sending mail. I am, however, able to access MSN Passport, just not the Hotmail section. Amazon seems fine. Google searching too. Any suggestions?
