Comment:

I recently set up a simple home network on mine and my daughters computers. Both are running W2K and access the internet through a dial up. Everything worked fine for a couple of days then my daughter could no longer access the internet. I tried to ping it but could not. My computer still connected and worked fine. I hooked up her computer on my brothers home network and it
connected and I was able to ping it just fine. I put it back on my network and it still did not work. I formated my hard drive and reinstalled the operating system and both computers connected and could see each other through the network. After a couple of days her computer would again no longer connect. HELP!!!

are you pinging the name (www.tv.com) or and IP address? it's sounds like a DNS problem, to me atleast.

If your pinging the ip address , try pinging a website from her computer (www.tv.com) is what I use.

Also you can try using a trace route

c:>tracert www.tv.com
or
c:>tracert X.X.X.X
