I'm getting the BSOD Stop error 0x0000004b on a Windows 2000 Pro PC. I am unable to boot into safe mode, VGA mode or use the Last Known Configuration option. I've tried running a chkdsk /r on the PC with no luck along with doing an inplace overwrite of the OS. I did this by booting to the Windows 2000 PC and selecting the option to install windows and then repair. Nothing has worked.
I'm running out of options and I'm not sure what to do. The only other thing I can think of is to replace the integrated video card with a PCI card and attempt to boot. Do you think that would work? Any thoughts? Thanks!!

This computer was previously operating properly with this OS installed? Did you just add any new hardware or software? Look below at the links for possible solutions.

Yes, it was working properly, but my friend mentioned something about attempting to change the resolution, but wasn't sure what he did.
The OS is Windows 2000 Pro. No new software or hardware. The video card is integrated so it can't be removed. The only thing I can think of is attempting to add a PCI card and disable the onboard, but I don't know if that would work.
Thanks for the links, but I've tried everything listed there.
Thanks for your time!

Are you using a USB keyboard? If so try connecting a PS/2 KBoard so you can enter safe mode. To verify the issue is with your KBoard try entering the BIOS screens by continously tapping the del key as soon as you turn on the computer. If that fails then the KBoard is the issue and you will need to at least temporarily connect a PS/2 KBoard so you can enter the BIOS to enable legusy USB hardware, which will then make the KBoard function prior to booting into Windows.

is the nic onboard? the biggest issue i have with 2kpro is nic's.if its an add in pull the nic card.maybe the drivers went goofy?
on the road again!!

to me it sounds like your bios went wacky, i had it happen one time to where my cpu speeds were getting changed by the mother board. check to see if your bios is set correctly.????

Just wanted to update this thread with my resolution. The NIC is integrated, so no chance of pulling the card. The Windows 2000 repair did nothing, as did the WinTernals repair. The BIOS settings were fine and I even tried disabling the parallel port.
In the end, I slaved the HDD to a working PC, extracted the guys files and re-installed Windows. After a couple of hours trying to fix the PC, it seemed easier to just reformat than to keep troubleshooting. Thanks for the replies.
