Hit by the boot.malmo virus

OS: windows 2000 server
CPU/Ram: x86 Family 6 model 5 step

i have been hit by the boot.malmo virus and as a resut my network is very slow, i fear that it will shut down soon. How do i remove this virus? Norton can only detect it but can't remove or quarantine it. Advice needed urgently.

Also try re-booting into Safe Mode & then running Norton.
