My computer would work with Hibernate before but since I enabled APM, when it starts back up it hangs when Windows loads.

I can change it back but I'm curious to know what the problem is.

If your computer is a PC and not a laptop, don't even try to use hibernate or standbye mode. Those were designed for laptops and NEVER work properly on PC's.

Open Power Management in Control Panel and set the monitor to "Turn Off" after 5 or 10 min's (I have mine set to 5) and the hard drive to "Turn Off" after 1 hour.

Well Curt R, I can second that! And I use a laptop, and standby and hibernate dont even work properly on it, either.

FYI, I have no screensaver, my hard disks set to power off after 10 mins, and my monitor off after 2 hours. Thats it -- no standby or hibernate. Its about personal preference, really.

Dont know much about APM so I cant really answer the original problem, sorry...

There is one subtle yet vital difference between opinion and fact; and the bigger man is he who can whole-heartedly admit this.
