There is a program that is taking up large amounts of memory on my system called Winampa5.exe. I dont know what it is but from what I can tell its not good. Does anyone have any information on it or how to remove it. It seems to be used by programs on the system so removing it has proven to be near impossible. It just always seems to clog the CPU and memory usage. Help!
What I would do first is run msconfig. Its not on windows 2000 my default but u can get it from http://www.techadvice.com/win2000/m/msconfig_w2k.htm . If you have ever supported 98 heavly you will remeber this program. put it in your system32 folder. Now you can go to run and type msconfig. The last tab will be startup. Have a look at it. Its all the proccess and programs that start on startup and run in the background. It will show you the path of that exe file and give you the ability to uncheck it so it dosent run automaticly. If it messes things up then you can check it again.
Best of luck.... shaunix
