I have set up IIS 5.0 on Win2k Svr. I am having problems accessing my default web site from an external dial-up anonomous user. The default FTP server is working just fine.
Why is it that I can access the website from the local server machine and also from other PCs on the LAN (even when using the public IP address - which shows that port forwarding on my firewall is working). I have DSL by the way. But when I dialup to another ISP on my laptop and enter the public IP in the browser (IE5.5) the web page is not served up. I get a "Cannot find server..." error. Not even a 401/403 error.
I'm pretty sure this has to do with permissions, but I'm stumped. For the root folder, I have Everyone-full control, IUSR_webserver-full control, and Administrator-full control. I know these are not optimal settings, but I just want to serve up a webpage before getting into security.
Can anyone point me to a step-by-step tutorial on setting up IIS 5.0 web services??
Thanks.

I have Exchange 2k installed as well. This is my domain controller. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Hi,
Try on another port instead of 80 for your web site if it works it means that your ISP is bloking the port 80.I had the same thing.

OH yeah! That was pretty obvious. I should have thought of that first. Thanks.
I was getting into IIS Lockdown by Exchange Server. Lemme switch ports first. :-)
