Please help I have a Compaq Presario laptop that only has 2 USB ports and no serial port. I wish to attach a GPS Garmin E trek that has a data lead with a Serial port attachment on the end. How can I attach the GPS any ideas? Compaq say its possible but cant offer support. Please help?

How old is that Laptop and what model is it. I would be very surprised to find a laptop with NO Serial port.
Generally there is 1 VGA port, 1 Serial Port, 1 Parallel Port, 2 USB Ports
That's very odd, No Serial Port. Perhaps you may get a serial to USB adapter, but that's pointless if the GPS device is NOT able to be recognized by the software after the Serial to USB conversion. Good Luck
