I am trying to install win 2000 with no luck..I need a from scratch way to put it on my computer. I ereased xp from within the program itself with a program that erases hard drives. Now I cant get the win 2000 installed. Please give me a by play on what to do.

Simplest way : get in the bios, make sure the boot sequence is set to CD-Rom first. Then, boot on the win2k CD, follow instructions which are very similar to XP. That's all.

eg. I ran xwz program while I was in Windows.

Try Active @killdisk diskette to wipe(erase) hard drive. It works on first physical drive only for free.
http://www.killdisk.com/
Make new partitions and format as FAT32.The Windows 2000 setup will offer the NTFS type when you run setup.Make the boot diskettes for Win2k if you don't have cdrom boot.Look for the folder Boot Disk at the root of the Win2k cdrom.Open it on a working Windows system and run makebt32 by clicking the file.Follow on screen intructions. You will need a few formatted diskettes to create the boot disk set.Good luck.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.
