Comment: OK, Here goes... I have 2 hard drives, a 20 gig with Windows ME installed and a 4.3 gig with win 2000 pro. I dual boot and both OS's work well but I have a few issues with 2000 that you might be able to help me with. 1. Windows 2000 will Not save my Vid cards Overclocked settings. I have the correct win2k drivers installed and am logged on as admin but after a restart Overclocking is back to the default. I have a Geforce 2 GTS/Pro.Win me saves all settings after a reboot. 2. I am using @home cable internet and the news server is "news". I can access this server from win ME (always have, even before 2k installation)but not win2k. Again I am logged on as admin..I can switch back to Win ME and access the news server just fine but Win 2k give a error "Server not found". I can access internet and all other network areas but not the news. Other than those 2 issues I love win2k and will eventually make it my primary os..Thanks in advanced for all your help :)

Reply: (edit)I use to install the cable modems, try calling the company and see if they can give you the IP address for the news server. On several cases I had hardset the IP on mail to get the mail server to work. The video card overclocking I know nothing about I have G400 matrox dual head and can't use it how I could on 98se (whole dual screen one desktop thing, NT problem). I made the jump from 98 to 2000 before checking it out and I got alot of surprises but I muddled around a couple months got the new drivers and SP1 its great! Watch what hardware you buy make sure its new (just because it supports NT does not mean it will support 2000) ALSO, I do not like internet explorer 5.5 on my 2000 machine lots of bugs stay at 5.01 if you have not upgraded yet (problems mostly in hotmail, how ironic!). Good luck don't give up on 2000! Jeremiah
