I am runnig win 98, hopefully upgrading to win 2000 soon, but in the mean time I am having trouble with my display colour. I had to formatt my hard drive and since then have had only 16 colours. I did have the 256 before. I cant seem to find a driver or a reason for this to have happened? I am fairly computer literate but this has really confused me. I f any one can offer any help or sugestions i would be very grateful. Thanks Barbie

The problem is that the windows 98 driver database doesn't have 'out of the box' support for your graphics card.
If you post back with the make of your graphics card , hopefully someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

thanks for the help, how do i find out the make of the graphics card? I have looked in my systems information, but i think i am over my head (if you know what i mean) can you tell me what to look for and where please

I have an IBM Aptiva which has only windows 98 o/s and msdos

ithas 1.66gb hard drive, pentium 166mhz, and 16mb shared memory. I don't know if any of that helps, but i would like to see if i can fix this myself and in doing so learn more about this p.c. of mine before i upgrade to a bigger and quicker system, and thanks again for any help given...barbie

Go to the IBM web site and look up your model of computer. There are drivers at the site to download to fix the problem. I assume you know how to change from there.
