Comment: I have a laptop that's normally conected to a domain at work. Today, I got the bright idea that I would try to add the laptop to my home peer-to-peer network as well. I went into the identification properties and changed the configuration from domain to workgroup. Now I can't log in at all. It rejects all my username/password combinations. I've tried to boot to "last known good configuration". No Go.

Reply: (edit)You need to log in with whatever the password of the local user is. When you connected to the domain you used a domain account that was stored on the domain controller. Now you are just logging into the local machine so you need to know what that username and password are. This was set up during the install of the OS. If all else fails, you can log into the domain again then create a local account to use when you log in to your home network.
