Can't open active directory users and computers on windows 2000 server. I get this error:
"the installation source for this product is not available . Verify that the source exists and that you can access it" what do i need to do to access it again?

Sounds like a virus deleted some of the necessary files? Maybe?
I take it that this computer is a DC and not just an administrative server, correct?
If it isn't a DC, insert the Windows 2000 CD into the drive, or point it to use the I386 folder (assuming you copied it to your hard disks) and Windows will automatically copy the files it needs back and AD should come back up.

It sounds like the server is looking for the installation cd. Try putting the windows 2000 server cd in the drive again. The server may need to reload the admin tools for the AD. You may have a problem with the AD. Did you try to administer it from a 2000 pro workstation? If you can then try reinstalling the AD snapin.
